Tim Nagy
Tim Nagy is a Professor and Vice Chair for Research in the Department of Nutrition Sciences at UAB where he studies the relationships between obesity and disease, particularly cancer. When not at work or spending time with his family, you will likely find Tim at the race track. Tim enjoys racing at the club level and instructing at high performance driver education events across the Southeast. Tim instigated and is participating in Accelerating a Cancer Cure not only because of his research interest, but because his life has been changed by cancer. Seven years ago his academic mentor and friend, Dr. Roland Weinsier, died of colon cancer, and more recently, his wife Fran was diagnosed with cervical cancer. Thankfully, Fran's cancer was caught very early and was treated successfully. Tim urges everyone to contribute to Accelerating a Cancer Cure so that someday we can eliminate cancer from our lives.
