Planned Gifts

The UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center welcomes planned gifts that will benefit cancer research in the future.

Planned giving is a technique that offers you the maximum personal benefits for your charitable giving. Through favorable tax treatment, planned giving may offer you ways to make more significant gifts than you might have otherwise thought possible. Planned giving is merely a way to make a gift and also enjoy the benefits of federal and state tax provisions. Examples of planned gifts include:

–Wills or living trusts

–Charitable remainder trusts

–Charitable lead trusts

–Charitable gift annuities

–Pooled income funds

–Retained life estates

Charitable Gift Opportunities for the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center

With careful planning, it is possible to reduce or eliminate income taxes, capital gain taxes and other “transfer” taxes such as estate taxes, gift taxes and generation-skipping taxes. Through some gift options, you can enjoy these tax savings while converting appreciated assets into an income for yourself or others.
