Why:
National Cancer Survivors Day is an annual, worldwide celebration of life that is held in hundreds of communities throughout the world. Cancer survivors, caregivers, family members, friends and health care professionals will unite in this symbolic event to show the world that life after a cancer diagnosis can be a reality.
About the event:
This year’s event will be a festive event with live music and cooking demonstrations as well as a host of hands-on activity centers for educational opportunities, nutritional programs, children’s activities, art and massage therapies. Hilary Golston with Alabama's 13 will emcee the event.
Joining us for this year’s celebration will be John Scalici, an internationally recognized drum circle facilitator, speaker, musician and master teaching artist. John will lead Survivors Day participants in the DrumSTRONG™ program, a unique, multicultural, musical, charity event that helps showcase regional and national resources that support people with cancer and those who love them.
Proceeds from DrumSTRONG will benefit the Celebrating Life event. Click here to learn more!
