|Accelerating a Cancer Cure|
The UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center and PBOC Motorsports Club have once again teamed up for Accelerating a Cancer Cure 2011, a driver competition to raise funds for cancer research.
Drivers are competing to raise funds for the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center from now until the November 19-20 PBOC Points Race at Barber Motorsports Park. The top two Accelerating a Cancer Cure drivers who raise the most money by November 20 will win a free race entry or driver education school form for 2011-12. The driver who secures the most pledges will win two three-day tickets to the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama. All drivers registered are eligible to participate.
*Please note that in order for your gift to be credited to a specific driver, you must make your gift "in honor" of that driver by selecting "Honorarium" as the gift type and entering the driver's name in the "Memorial or Honorarium Name" field.
If you attend Accelerating a Cancer Cure on Sunday, November 20, you can get in on the action as well! Track tours will be available at noon for a donation to the event, allowing you to drive your own car on the track. Instructors will also be giving racecar rides for $25 per ride at 10:00, 1:35, 3:00 and 4:30.
*To participate in an intructor ride, you must be 16 years of age and wear a helmet, long sleeves, long pants and closed-toe shoes. Sign up in Media Center on second floor to make your donation and sign a waiver.
PBOC is a driving club dedicated to all levels of high-performance driving. To learn more about PBOC, visit www.pbocflorida.com.
