Confronting Cancer with Faith PDF Print E-mail

While working at the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center, Karen Allen experienced firsthand the significance of her cancer research when she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003. Allen, a UAB graduate and a clinical trials administrator, has authored numerous articles for medical journals, says her walk through cancer inspired the writing of her first book, Confronting Cancer with Faith, offering encouragement, comfort and hope to cancer patients.

Now eight years past her initial diagnosis, Allen is encouraging men and women alike to incorporate their “cancer world” into an unforgettable time of spiritual renewal. “We can’t always choose what happens to us, but we can choose how we will respond.”
