Cancer Center Physicians Travel to Korea PDF Print E-mail

Ronald Alvarez, M.D., Director of the UAB Division of Gynecologic Oncology and President-Elect of the Society of Gynecologic Oncology, recently led a U.S. Delegation to the Asian Society of Gynecologic Oncology 2nd Biennial Meeting in Seoul, Korea.

 

Themed "New Insight into Gynecologic Cancer in Asia," the meeting was attended by more than 600 participants from 17 countries. Dr. Alvarez and Warner Huh, M.D., professor in the UAB Division of Gynecologic Oncology, presented at the meeting which included the Asian SGO and the International Gynecologic Cancer Society.  The delegation also visited Seoul St. Mary's Hospital- Catholic University of Korea and Yonsei University's Severance Hospital.

 

The UAB Division of Gynecologic Oncology is a multidisciplinary team of specialty physicians, nurses and consultants providing comprehensive, compassionate care for women with gynecologic cancers. Its team of experts assists women with the physical and emotional challenges associated with gynecologic cancer, designing a treatment plan customized to each patient's individual needs.
