UAB: Comprehensive Cancer Center

Energen Corporation Chairman and Chief Executive Officer James McManus recently presented a painting, “The Blessing,” by Alabama artist Lee Wilson to the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center in honor of longtime Energen employee Sandra Behel.

Behel, who recently passed away, was treated for cancer at UAB and was instrumental in coordinating the Energen’s annual art competition for the past 10 years. The competition, which celebrates Alabama artists, had 511 art entries this year from a total of 274 artists. Selected art was featured in a free exhibition at Energen Plaza in downtown Birmingham culminating in a closing ceremony on March 25, 2012, where UAB representatives accepted the painting which will be hung in the infusion center at The Kirklin Clinic.
