Cancer Center to Host Alternative Therapies Class |

The UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center, as part of its Living with Cancer educational and support services program, will host a class on the benefits and drawbacks of complementary therapies. “Complementary and Alternative Therapies: What You (And Your Doctor) Don’t Know Can Hurt You,” a free event, will be held 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, in the Comprehensive Cancer Center Room 2532, 1802 6th Ave. South.

Teaming Up to Fight Cancer |

The UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center and UAB Men's Basketball are teaming up Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, for the fourth annual Bartow Classic, a fundraiser for the Coach Gene Bartow Fund for Cancer Research. This also will be the last time the UAB Blazers will face the University of Memphis Tigers as Conference USA rivals.

The UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center, Virginia College and Cooking with Cancer, Inc., will offer patients and their families a series of cooking classes with simple recipes designed to re-awaken taste buds and appetites.

Fouad Receives Top Cancer Center Research Award |
