Cancer Answers is a service initiated by the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center to refer patients to appropriate UAB physicians and to provide confidential information about cancer. It is staffed by specialists who care about giving the best possible answers to cancer patients.

Many calls to the Cancer Answers hotline are from relatives and friends of cancer patients who want information about their loved-one's diagnosis. The nurses who staff the line have the expertise to provide the kind of advice most callers request.

Many times the best course is to find a second opinion, and many patients seem relieved that this is an accepted practice. The nurses at Cancer Answers can help you find another physician who can give that second opinion.
