MEETING INFORMATION

This event is free and open to members of the UAB and Southern Research scientific research community.

Purpose
The annual Research Retreat is an opportunity to stimulate interdisciplinary research collaboration and development among Cancer Center members. This year's event will feature presentations by experts in the field of microbiome and cancer research and a research poster competition.

Who Should Attend?
Participants include Cancer Center members, faculty, postdoctoral fellows, graduate students and research personnel from UAB and Southern Research

Research Competition Awards
The Research Competition awards junior faculty, postdoctoral fellows and graduate students for their creative work in the areas of cancer research, cancer prevention and control research, and cancer-related biostatistics and bioinformatics research. Eligible participants may submit an abstract of their original cancer research for presentation as a poster for the Research Competition. Posters are judged by a Review Committee with first, second, third place, and honorable mention awards presented for the most outstanding posters. Winners receive cash awards.

The Albert F. LoBuglio Distinguished Faculty Award is presented to a faculty member of the Cancer Center who has made the most outstanding contributions to the research mission of the Cancer Center.
